Use a Rolling Pin to Give Your Love a Valentine's Day Massage

After you finish with Valentine’s Day dinner, surprise your love with a relaxing and delightful massage. If you are like me, you don’t have the stamina or knowledge to give your love a thorough hand massage.

1. Choose an old rolling pin and clean it thoroughly. You may even want to paint and decorate it with your own special Valentine’s Day message. You can also glue on 3-dimensional valentine-shaped "bumps" to vary the intensity of the massage.

2. Choose a method for warming the rolling pin before you start the massage. Ceramic, stone and plastic pins can all be immersed in hot tap water for a few minutes, bundled in a heating pad, or wrapped in a warm moist towel.

3. Use the pin to gently roll on non-bony areas of the body: middle and lower back, buttocks, back and front of the thighs, calves, and soles of the feet. It will not take much pressure or work on your part; just let the rolling pin do the work of slightly compressing the muscles. Avoid rolling the pin over bones, as that causes pain for most people.

4. You can add oils or scents to the rolling pin as you work on the massage. Clean up is easy and simple.

Instead of spending money on electric appliances or a spa treatment, recycle that old rolling pin to give a wonderful full body rub down. You will help your own back and arms as well as theirs!
