Skippy® Peanut Butter as bird feeder glue

Birdfeeder
Skippy® Peanut Butter Alternative use - Eco-friendly bird feeder glue!

When building a bird feeder, we often think of bird seed in a cut-to-specification plastic container, buying a feeder from the store, or scattering it on the ground. But did you know that most of us have the means of making an eco-friendly bird feeder at home?

1. Find a pine cone. Alternatively, use a piece of scrap wood and cut inch wide grooves or large holes through it. A cardboard egg carton can also be used. The intent is to use biodegradable materials that one already has.
2. Use Skippy® Peanut Butter and cover all surfaces of the outside of the bird feeder.
3. Spread bird feed or seeds on the bird feeder. That which does not stick on its own to the peanut butter can be manually pushed into the Skippy® Peanut Butter using a spatula or your fingers.
4. Tie a string to the pine cone. If using an egg carton, punch at least one hole in the cardboard then tie the string around that edge. If using wood, tie the string through a hole in the wood.
5. Tie the other end of the string to a gutter, tree limb or other location where birds congregate.
