Wooden Pencil as Plant Support

Plant Support
Wood pencils are handy to use when you're starting young, spindly plants. Stick one in the soil next to stalk and secure with a twist-tie, piece of fabric or rubberband. The lead pencil will support the young plant until it grows strong enough to stand up on it's own.

Wooden pencils can also be used to support a full-grown plant with a damaged stalk.
