Seed Starter
1) Cut less than half of the top portion of an egg off.

2) Drain the contents into a bowl and carefully rinse out the inside of the egg.

3) Using a push pin, gently poke a small hole in the bottom of the egg shell in order to let water drain from the soil.

4) Moisten some soil and spoon it into each emptied egg shell. Now you are ready to plant the seeds in your eggshells.

Use a plastic grocery bag as a book bag
Today many libraries are severely underfunded and they cannot afford to provide bags to patrons who check out books.

Why not establish a program where users can drop off discarded plastic grocery bags at their public library, which could then offer them as book bags to users who check out books.

That's exactly what the The Long Beach, CA Public Library does!

Use Olive Oil to Lubricate a Bicycle Chain

How to lubricate your bike chain without the use of dirty, smelly oils
It is actually very simple, all you need is a bottle of olive oil (preferably with a pointed tip). Then you go where you keep your bike and position the bottle over the chain and spin the pedals backwards until the chain gone around approx. 2 to 3 times. If it does not seem very lubricated, spin the pedals backwards again until chain seems lubricated. So now instead of your bike smelling like grea
sy oil, it smells like olive oil! (olive oil also lasts a bit longer)

Use your old Coffee can to grill a hamburger.......You can do this by using an old metal Folger's coffee can. Simply cut some holes in the bottom of the coffee can to create a grill-like surface. At the top of the can cut out a moderate size triangle. Place the can upside down and use the triangle to place newspaper or dry pine needles in to use as a fire starter. Once the bottom of the can is hot enough you can use the surface as a makeshift grill and cook your very own bur

Make a Dog Pull Toy from a Sock

Buying dog toys is for suckers.
Puppies chew. Dogs chew too. Want a toy that doesn't squeak? A toy you can throw in the washer? A toy your pup won't choke on?

Grab a mis-matched sock and get knotting. Think bunching, rolling, wrapping and stretching. You can mold a sock into a tightly wrapped and compressed ball. Loop the fabric into itself. Pull. Stretch. Voila. Be creative.

Let fido be your inspiration.

Use Duct Tape to Soften Dry Skin

Ever get painful, cracked skin on your fingers or thumbs? I've found that Duct tape works equally as well, and possibly better than expensive adhesive bandages. Wrap the wound tightly -- not too tight so as to cut off circulation, yet sealed so that water won't seep in. Reapply as necessary using the duct tape on for two weeks, and those nasty, incredibly difficult to heal, deep skin cracks on you fingertips will finally vanish.
